The federal government has officially announced a four-day public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Azha, beginning Friday, June 6 through Monday, June 9. The decision applies to both five-day and six-day workweek offices, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday.
In line with the federal government, the Punjab government also declared a four-day holiday period for Eid-ul-Azha, confirming the same dates in an official notification released later the same day.
The extended break comes as most educational institutions across the country are already closed for summer vacations, minimizing the impact on the academic calendar.
Eid-ul-Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic holidays, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.
