Starting June 1, all Sub-Registrar offices across Belagavi district will extend their working hours to include weekends and select holidays, following a directive from the Department of Registration and Stamps. This initiative aims to enhance public convenience and reduce service backlogs.
Belagavi District Registrar Mahantesh P. and Deputy Registrar Karibasavanagouda P. confirmed that the offices will remain open on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays on a rotational basis until December 28, 2025.
For instance, the Belagavi North Sub-Registrar Office will be open on June 14 (second Saturday) but will observe a compensatory holiday on June 17 (Tuesday). Similar rotational schedules will be implemented across all Sub-Registrar offices within the district.
This decision follows an order by K.A. Dayananda, Commissioner of the Registration and Stamps Department, who approved the special weekend work schedule in response to increasing public demand for registration services.
Citizens are encouraged to utilize these additional working days. Updated office schedules can be accessed via the Kaveri 2.0 software platform.
The Sub-Registrar offices affected include Belagavi, Belagavi South, Mudalagi, Nippani, Bailhongal, Athani, Chikkodi, Sankeshwar, Kagawad, Gokak, Hukkeri, Khanapura, Sadalga, Kittur, Rayabhaga, Ramadurga, Murgod, and Savadatti.
For more information, residents are advised to consult the official schedule or visit their local Sub-Registrar office.
