A lesser-known resort in Tenerife, Costa del Silencio, has been named the most affordable summer holiday destination in the Canary Islands, according to new research by TravelSupermarket.
The study analyzed average package holiday prices across Spain for travel between May and September. Costa del Silencio topped the rankings for the Canaries, with an average weekly cost of £424 per person.
“Costa del Silencio offers exceptional value for those seeking summer sun in the Canaries,” said Steph Marinkovic, Head of Editorial at TravelSupermarket. “The resort is quieter than Tenerife’s more popular southern hotspots, but significantly more affordable.”
The area, located near well-known resorts such as Golf del Sur and just a short drive from Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas, is known for its peaceful atmosphere and natural scenery. One of its main attractions is Montaña Amarilla, a striking golden volcanic formation and a popular site for photography. The surrounding coastline is also favored for activities such as snorkeling and diving.
While Costa del Silencio lacks the vibrant nightlife found in other parts of the island, it still offers a range of restaurants and bars in a more relaxed setting. The resort is positioned as a quieter alternative for travelers seeking sun and sea without the crowds.
Costa del Silencio ranked second in TravelSupermarket’s list of best-value destinations across Spain. The top spot went to Manilva, a small coastal town on the Costa del Sol, with an average weekly price of £371 per person. Manilva is noted for its proximity to popular beaches and vineyards, as well as access to major resorts in the region.
