The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in observance of the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

In the statement, the minister extended his congratulations to Muslims in Nigeria and across the globe, urging the faithful to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him).

Tunji-Ojo encouraged Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for national peace and prosperity. He emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among citizens in supporting the government’s ongoing reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“These reforms are aimed at repositioning the country on the path of sustainable progress,” the minister said.

He concluded by wishing the Muslim community a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Adha celebration and called on all Nigerians to contribute to the collective effort of restoring the nation’s greatness.
