In a significant decision, the Council of Advisers has approved a 10-day holiday for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. The announcement was made on 6 May 2025 by Shafiqul Alam, the Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, through a post on his verified Facebook account.

Alam confirmed that the holiday will span 10 days, with offices remaining open on Saturdays, 17 May and 24 May, to accommodate the change in the regular work schedule. This move is expected to give citizens ample time to celebrate the religious festival with their families and communities.

In addition to the holiday announcement, the Council of Advisers also approved the draft of the Cyber Shurokkha Act 2025 during their meeting. The new legislation is aimed at bolstering the country’s cybersecurity framework.

Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most celebrated religious festivals in Bangladesh, is expected to be marked with grand celebrations across the country, bringing together families and communities to observe traditional rituals and festivities.
