Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for an unprecedented surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Eid holiday period. From March 26 to April 7, the airport expects to welcome over 3.6 million travelers, with the busiest day anticipated on Saturday, April 5, when approximately 309,000 passengers are forecasted to pass through its terminals.
Daily passenger volumes are projected to average 276,000 throughout the peak period, with the most significant increase expected during the first week of April. Departure numbers during Eid week are set to rise by 19 percent compared to average weekly traffic recorded over the previous month, underscoring a substantial seasonal uptick.
The increase in travel demand is driven in part by spring school holidays and robust interest from visiting friends and relatives (VFR) markets, including India, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom. Leisure travel is also on the rise, particularly to destinations such as Sri Lanka, Türkiye, and Italy.
To facilitate a smooth travel experience amid the busy period, Dubai Airports encourages passengers to utilize the newly launched DXB Express Maps. This innovative smart navigation tool offers real-time guidance across all terminals and can be accessed by scanning a QR code displayed on flight information screens. The tool helps travelers locate gates, explore dining and retail options, and find nearby facilities with ease.
Enhanced services are also in place to support People of Determination (PoD), featuring clearly marked accessibility routes, discreet assistance from trained staff identifiable by Sunflower pins for guests wearing Sunflower Lanyards, and a dedicated Assisted Travel Lounge located in Terminal 2.
Dubai Airports, in close cooperation with airline partners, service providers, commercial stakeholders, and government authorities, is committed to ensuring seamless passenger flows and an efficient travel experience throughout the Eid holiday season.
