Kuakata Braces for Tourist Surge Ahead of 10-Day Eid-ul-Azha Holiday

The picturesque coastal town of Kuakata is preparing for a significant influx of tourists as the country embarks on an unprecedented 10-day Eid-ul-Azha holiday beginning Thursday.

Known for its rare views of both sunrise and sunset over the Bay of Bengal, Kuakata—often referred to as the “Daughter of the Sea”—has already seen nearly 80 percent of rooms in high-end hotels booked in advance. Tourism stakeholders anticipate full occupancy in the days immediately following Eid.

In anticipation of the surge, hotel and motel operators have undertaken a range of preparations, including beach clean-up initiatives and improvements to guest amenities, aiming to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for visitors.

“We’re expecting one of the busiest Eid seasons in recent memory,” said a representative of the Kuakata Hotel-Motel Owners’ Association. “Our facilities are ready, and staff are on standby to serve guests.”

Local authorities have also intensified safety measures to handle the seasonal rush. Additional law enforcement officers have been deployed throughout the area, and tourist help desks have been established to assist travelers.

Traffic management, sanitation services, and emergency medical support have all been bolstered along the beachfront and other key tourist spots to ensure public safety and convenience.

With its natural beauty, upgraded infrastructure, and the longest Eid break in recent years, Kuakata is positioning itself as a premier destination for domestic travelers looking to unwind by the sea.
