National Rail has confirmed significant disruptions to train services over the upcoming May bank holiday weekend due to essential engineering works and upgrades across the network.
As part of ongoing efforts to improve the rail infrastructure, Network Rail will carry out necessary upgrades at various locations. Some train operators will adjust their schedules to better align with expected passenger demand.
One major change involves the closure of some lines between London Paddington and Ealing Broadway, which will impact services running between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead. These trains will be amended to run between Abbey Wood and London Paddington only.
Key Disruptions:
-
On Sunday, 4 May, before 07:40, services to and from Heathrow Airport and Reading will terminate at Ealing Broadway.
-
After 07:40, services between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead will operate only between Abbey Wood and London Paddington (Elizabeth Line platforms).
Several stations will experience reduced services:
-
Maidenhead, Burnham, Slough, Langley, West Drayton, Heathrow Terminal 4, Hanwell, and Acton Main Line will see a limited service, with only two trains per hour.
-
Hayes & Harlington, Southall, and Ealing Broadway will have six trains per hour.
-
West Ealing and Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 will have four trains per hour.
Additionally, services to and from Reading will stop at Iver.
Passengers are advised to check for any further updates and allow extra time for travel.
